Royal Icing (Gingerbread Houses Icing)

3 egg whites
2tsp Cream of Tartar
4 cups powdered sugar
(scooped, not packed)

Beat until thick; minimum of 10 minutes. Easy icing and it works. Turns hard as a rock! For really easy gingerbread houses, use graham crackers. But, you all probably already knew that!

Thank you thank you thank you. It's so hard to find a royal icing recipe that has the egg whites and not meringue powder. I had one once and lost it. Thanks for easing my holiday stress and eliminating an internet search tonight.
